"I'm starting to believe in the power of a name. Because it can't be a mistake if I just call it change" - Sara Bareilles

Good morning! I hope we are all ready for another week. This Monday morning finds Nashville with a bit cooler temperatures and a very rainy day. I, personally, am enjoying it. Do any of you feel like it should be cold already? Coming from Wyoming and then Minnesota, where it is cold 6 months out of the year, I expect November to already be heavy coat weather. But so far, Nashville has yet to deliver the cold temperatures that I crave.

This is the month of giving thanks and being with family, although in recent years Black Friday and consumerism has taken the forefront. I am impressed that this year several companies have taken into consideration the need for family time. REI is closing all of its stores on Black Friday for an initiative they are calling #Opt Outside, in the hopes that their employees can spend time outside in nature with their families. I couldn't be more impressed with this intiative, and I will definitely be taking up some outdoor time with my family this Thanksgiving.

Last week, I had the pleasure of playing a songwriters night on Monday night at Twin Kegs. We were asked to continue singing, and I was even asked up for an additional two numbers after the rest of the acts. I am extremely grateful to the crowd and appreciate everyone who came out!

The CMA Award Show was also last week (Wednesday) and for those of you who listen to country it was a great night! I attended a CMA Party and met some wonderful people while listening to some great music. There were even a few after parties with some of the stars you know (Justin Timberlake anyone?) I'm proud to be able to call this city my home. There are so many things going on all the time, it is near impossible to not have a good time and feel like a part of the community.

Yesterday, I wrote a song that I am quite proud of, and this week I have a songwriter night on Thursday in the Nashville Shores area. I am playing these writers nights in various areas of town to give you, the fans, the most available and easiest outlet to see me. So if you live in the Nashville Shores area, come on out and hear the very first playing of my new song! You won't be disappointed :)

I hope you all enjoy your week! As always, I am open to any comments, questions, and collaborations!

Jess :)
